Sourced from a cooperative of small spice farms on Zanzibar Island, off the east coast of Tanzania, these black peppercorns have been cultivated in this region for generations. These peppercorns are unique as they are allowed to ripen on the vine and then are hand-picked and sun dried. Most peppercorns today are harvested green.
Tasting Notes + Use
The ripening on the vine creates a dark, chocolate coloured peppercorn berry and results in a bright, fruity spiciness. A hint of cacao with a subtle taste of lemon and tropical heat reflect the region’s terroir. Grind fresh onto everything!
